To Qualify for Firestorm, You Must...

• Be in good physical condition
• Be 14 to 19 years of age
• Complete a 250 word essay during the application process
• Have a good attitude
• Follow all the rules and regulations of Firestorm
• Commit to participation in all hands-on activities and attend all classes

What is Firestorm?
The skills and training offered at Firestorm will be:

• Live fire training
• Using portable extinguishers
• Aerial ladder climbing
• Search and rescue
• Interviewing techniques
• Rappelling
• Hose handling
• Team building exercises
• Using self-contained breathing apparatus
• Understanding fire behavior
• CPR
• Water rescue

Our mission is to develop, support and implement an annual camp for young adults in a Fire Service environment.

GOALS

• Empower and build confidence through experiences in team building and physical challenges
• Support a sound work ethic and broaden problem solving abilities
• Create a diverse and non-threatening learning environment
• Educate in the areas of safety, first-aid, firefighting, and emergency response
• Provide role models with positive, strong leadership qualities
• Encourage youth mentoring through community involvement

VISION
Through positive role models and unrelenting community involvement, it is our belief that mentoring of young adults will produce better citizens, with enhanced self-esteem and positive leadership skills.
